MORE than 40,000 would-be runners were left disappointed after failing to secure a place in this year's Bupa Great North Run.
But for those who are still keen to take part in the world’s largest half marathon on Sunday, September 20, there are still places available in Team Diabetes UK.

Diabetes UK celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and the charity is hoping to field a team of 1,000 runners and break last year’s record.

Last year more than 750 people ran for the charity, raising more than £250,000 by taking part in the 13.1 mile race.

All money raised by members will go towards supporting the 300,000 people in the Northern and Yorkshire region who have diabetes.

If you’re keen to make a difference, contact Lisa Stafford on 01325 488606 or e-mail lisa.stafford@diabetes.org.uk
