THE sun was definitely shining for Newlands Primary School's gala on Saturday.
Pupils, staff, family and friends all flocked to the school to have a wonder around the many stalls, play a game or two and cool down with an ice-cream treat.
A crowd gathered on the playing field cheer on a game of tag rugby played by girls and boys, and even more entertainment came with the school's dinnerladies taking to the pitch to attempt to score a try.
Children patiently sat to have their faces painted, transforming them into their favourite cartoon characters and superheroes and there were many prizes to be won on the hula hoop stall.
The sun kept shining throughout the day of the gala which, once again, was a complete success and enjoyed by everyone.
