WITH debut album St Jude debuting at number four in the UK charts while the band complete another sold out tour of the UK, The Courteeners have decided to strike while the iron is hot by announcing a full UK tour for October.
The tour will include the band's biggest show to date at Manchester's famous Apollo, a first time at another legendary venue, Glasgow Barrowlands, and a gig set for Leeds' newest venue at The Academy which is due to open later this year on the site of the old Town & Country and Creation.

The Courteeners will play selected festival dates across the summer and make their first visit to Japan before returning to the UK for their autumn shows.

Their Leeds gig is on Friday, October 17 with tickets costing £13.50 plus booking fee available from Crash Records (www.crashrecords.co.uk).

Liam Fray (guitar/vocals), Michael Campbell (drums/backing vocals), Daniel Conan Moores (Guitar) and Mark Cuppello (bass) who make up the band are all from the Middleton area of Manchester and have been mates since a young age.

Their rise to music fame has seen them pick up acclaim through a bunch of singles released since last August's debut, Cavorting. A second single, Acrylic, followed in October and after supporting The Coral on their tour last autumn their first headline tour was a complete sell out as word of mouth got round about this exciting new band.

Third single What Took You So Long, became The Courteeners' first top 20 hit at the start of 2008 and Not Nineteen Forever has followed suit in the last few weeks, paving the way nicely for the instant success of their first album which has been produced by Stephen Street, whose previous credits include the Kaiser Chiefs, The Smiths and Blur.
