FANS gripped by the adventures of Lyra and Will in His Dark Materials will want to head to the West Yorkshire Playhouse next month.
The trilogy's author Philip Pullman will be visiting the theatre to talk about the theatrical adaptation of his books, the success of the novels and to answer any pressing questions the audience may have about his work.

He will be in conversation with BBC Radio Leeds presenter Andrew Edwards on Monday, June 1 at 4.30pm.

Philip Pullman comes to Leeds as the epic stage production, from West Yorkshire Playhouse and Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company, takes to the Quarry Stage for the final leg of its UK tour.

The magical adventure follows Lyra and Will through worlds both familiar and unknown, across icy landscapes ruled by armoured bears and through the skies with armies of witches and angels.

His Dark Materials is an epic adventure story dramatically staged in two parts with intricate puppetry from innovative company Blind Summit Theatre and spectacular sets from Ruari Murchison.

An eight strong community cast from across Yorkshire will support the 17 professional actors to create Pullman's mystical worlds for the stage.

Tickets are available by calling West Yorkshire Playhouse Box Office 0113 213 7700 or by visiting www.wyp.org.uk.

Tickets to the Philip Pullman in conversation event are free for all those with tickets to the show and £1 for everyone else.

His Dark Materials is suitable for children aged 11 and above and their families. A number of tickets will be available free to under 26s as part of the Night Less Ordinary scheme.
