THE Yanks are coming!
It's an American invasion at Leeds Festival for music fans this summer with headliners on all three days from across the Atlantic.

At the official launch party – held at the Cockpit on Monday evening – it was confirmed that Metallica, Rage Against The Machine and The Killers will be the main stage headliners for the summer bank holiday festival, which this year takes place between August 22 and 24.

Heavy metal giants Metallica top the bill on Friday, August 22 with fellow Americans Tenacious D, Slipknot and Dropkick Murphys also appearing on the main stage.

The following day it will be the turn of the reformed Rage Against The Machine to headline a main stage which will also see a performance from Queens of the Stone Age while the final day has The Killers in the prime slot and The Raconteurs playing to their biggest festival audience so far.

There will be plenty of British interest, however, as the Radio 1/ NME Stage will be headlined by Wakefield band The Cribbs on the Friday, the controversial Pete Doherty's Babyshambles on the Saturday and the evergreen Manic Street Preachers on the last night. This stage will also see performances over the weekend from The Wombats, Vampire Weekend, Bullet For My Valentine, Foals and Conor Oberst with many more names to be added.

Leeds 2008 will take place at Bramham Park and will see more than 150 acts performing. Three-day weekend tickets, including camping and parking, are priced at £155 each plus booking fee while day tickets are £65 plus booking fee.
The tickets are expected to sell fast, but for availability, visit www.festivalrepublic.com
