WITH 200 episodes of his Later programme now behind him, music maestro Jools Holland has become something of a national treasure, making sure quality music gets a place on national television.
He's also heading for another milestone of his own as he's 50 years old this year and to celebrate he has announced a massive tour that will bring the master of the ivories to Yorkshire four times this autumn.
Jools and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra are planning their most glittering tour yet. There are 31 dates in all, including appearances at Bradford's St George's Hall on Friday, November 7; Harrogate's International Centre on November 8 and 9; and Sheffield's City Hall on Thursday, December 4.
The new dates follow Holland's hugely successful sell-out tour last year and the release of top 10 album Best Of Friends and they will see him returning for a show stopping two nights at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Bringing audiences another taste of his blues and boogie woogie fun, one of the UK's hardest working musicians is promising a trademark foot-stomping night out.
With guest vocals from Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall and other guests still to be announced, Jools will perform tracks spanning his 11 albums from the past 11 years as well as songs taken from Best Of Friends, which was released last autumn and includes some of his most loved collaborations with guests including the late George Harrison, Norah Jones, Tom Jones, Bono and Stereophonics.
Tickets for the autumn tour are available from all venue box offices and hotline 0871 230 5585.
