THE courtyard at Oakwell Hall Visitor Centre will provide the atmospheric setting for an open air performance of Romeo and Juliet on Wednesday, June 17.
The production by
Chapterhouse Theatre Company, who are performing at Oakwell in Birstall for the fifth successive year, is the only one in West Yorkshire in a 21-venue tour.
Shakespeare's romantic tale of star-crossed lovers was the first play the touring company performed at Oakwell. Their 2005 production was so popular that the group has returned every year since to perform other Shakespearean plays.
This performance of Romeo and Juliet starts at 7.30pm and will last about two hours and 20 minutes, including an interval.
Tickets, priced £12 for adults, £11 senior citizens, £8 children and students and £35 for family tickets, are available from Oakwell Hall and Country Park on 01924 326240.
People are asked to bring their own seating for the performance and are also encouraged to enjoy a pre-performance picnic in the walled gardens behind the historic hall. The gardens will be open for viewing and picnicking from 6pm.
