THE latest music talent to blast out of Sheffield is set to make an impact with their debut album and a tour that heads for Leeds this week.
Rotary Ten are originally from a small Lincolnshire village, but have made the Steel City their base after two members of the band attended Sheffield University. These Are Our Hands is their first statement - an 11-track album that highlights their intricate indie sound which has been compared to We Are Scientists, The Smiths and fellow Yorkshire band The Cribs.
Prior to putting pen to paper with Xtra Mile Recordings, the band put out two limited edition singles on their own label and both received radio play having come to the attention of the likes of the influential Steve Lamacq and Marc Riley.
Support slots with The Killers, British Sea Power, The Enemy and The Futureheads brought them to a wide audience and they are now heading out on a headlining tour of their own, playing in Leeds at The Library on Woodhouse Lane on Thursday, July 3. Support comes from Ladyfingers and The Old Romantic Killer Band and tickets details are available from 0113 244 0794 or Crash and Jumbo Records in Leeds.
