WHICH Australian band has played live to more people this decade than any other of their compatriots?
The answer is The Cat Empire, who are playing in Leeds next week.

After having performed on major US TV shows such as Letterman and Leno last year, the band also played Glastonbury Festival and released another multiplatinum album in Australia.

The Melbourne band spent much of 2008 digging through their personal archives to unearth the best live takes and footage to deliver to their fans, who have been dying to get their hands on live content since the band's early days.

The result is the 22-track double album Live On Earth, which will be released this month.

The Cat Empire play the 02 Leeds Academy on Thursday.
