ALAN Bennett's theatrical phenomenon The History Boys is returning to his home city of Leeds next month.
The international smash is being brought back to life in the first new production since the original toured the world to massive acclaim.
The West Yorkshire Playhouse, in a co-production with Theatre Royal Bath Productions, will be staging the play from February 3 to March 6.
Now a classic of modern drama, The History Boys made a phenomenal impact upon its National Theatre debut, winning three Olivier Awards, six Tony Awards, the Critics' Circle and Evening Standard Awards, all including Best Play.
Christopher Luscombe directs this new production, teaming with designer Janet Bird, to reunite the creative team behind Bennett's Enjoy, which played triumphantly in the West End earlier this year.
The play is based around a group of sixth-formers at Cutlers' Grammar School in Sheffield who are aiming for Oxbridge, despite the best efforts of their endearingly eccentric teacher Hector to put them off.

However, when the headmaster brings in Irwin, a bright young junior master to coach the boys, the pupils' allegiances are divided.
We have two pairs of tickets to give away to the performance of The History Boys on Tuesday, February 9.
