ONCE again we are told of plans to regenerate Morley, in particular Morley Bottoms. However, there are no actual concrete plans in place to do this
The earliest optimistic date a plan could be agreed, not carried out, is possibly early summer.

Then, of course, there is the question of if and when any money can be made available to carry out any improvements.

The regeneration of Morley has been talked about for years, and that’s all it has been, talk, and while all the talking has been taking place more and more shops are being closed and boarded up, or worst turned into yet another takeaway!

I know many old Morleians who are ashamed of how this fine old town has declined over the years.

It’s time for the town council to stop blowing its own trumpet and actually do something before Morley slowly becomes a town of takeaway and charity shops.

It’s time it was turned back into the fine town it used to be instead of the derelict wreck it’s turning into.
