Thanks for support
A VERY big thank you to all who defied the wind and rain on Sunday and turned out to support our annual St George's Day parade and tournament.
Attendance grows year by year and it was heartening to see that once again the pageantry and the composition of the parade has increased – in spite of the weather.
A big thank you to the children. The cadet forces on parade carried out their duties in exemplary fashion but it was the infant children on parade who stole the show.
Despite the weather, their obvious enthusiasm, their smiles, their hand waving and the profusion of their St George's flags was a source of inspiration to us as we watched the procession pass by. Well done!
And a big thank you to the Observer and Advertiser for its support and coverage of the event.
We look forward to 2009 with additional confidence.
