ON behalf of staff and pupils at Wakefield Tutorial Preparatory School, I would like to express our thanks to the members of Morley Town Council and staff at Morley Town Hall for a wonderful welcome last week when we visited the town hall for the Heritage Open Weekend.
At our school we have a robust citizenship curriculum which involves our children in considering, not only their heritage, but how we can make a difference to our community through public service.
The tour gave us much food for thought.
Thank you to the Mayor for his friendly and informative welcome and to Coun Stevenson for her guided tour; thanks also the members of the town council for refreshments at the end of the tour!
The experience was a treat and an inspiration to our young people.
JULIE TANNER
HEAD TEACHER
