Biffy Clyro to headline Leeds Festival

Biffy Clyro have been revealed as the second main stage headliners at this year’s Leeds Festival.

The Scottish rockers will be making their only 2013 UK festival appearance at Leeds and sister event Reading and join the previously announced Eminem as a headline act with the final headliner to be revealed soon.

Biffy Clyro are at number one in this week’s UK album charts with Opposites and are set to play tracks from their latest work in their festival set along with hits from the band’s extensive catalogue.

With a recent NME Award nomination for ‘Best British Band’ and ‘Best Live Band’, 2013 is certainly set to be an incredible year for Biffy Clyro, who have made their way up the Leeds Festival bill having previously appeared several times lower down the order.

One of the most successful alt-rock bands of all time, System Of A Down, are also set to make a welcome return to Reading and Leeds, having been confirmed this week. The band have only played a handful of gigs since they reformed in 2010, but they are back in the UK to play the main stage at the 2013 festivals.

Also announced to appear are another recently reformed festival favourite Fall Out Boy, who will take to the main stage in a UK festival exclusive performance.

Their live shows are always anarchic and tend to include a few irreverent turns and their performance at the festivals this summer will feature songs from across the band’s entire career.

Foals have played Reading & Leeds Festivals three times before, working their way up from the smallest tent, to this year taking their place on the main stage. Recently nominated for ‘Best Track’ (‘Inhaler’) and ‘Best Live Band’ at the NME Awards, their Reading & Leeds performance will be one to watch.

Also announced for the main stage are British metalcore dons Bring Me The Horizon, who will give fans a chance to hear new material from their highly anticipated forthcoming album, Sempiternal.

Since 2012 Jake Bugg has scored a number one album with his self-titled debut, received nominations for ‘Best Album’ and ‘Best Solo Artist’ at the forthcoming NME Awards and is shortlisted for ‘British Breakthrough Act’ at the Brits. He will appear on the NME/Radio 1 Stage at Leeds this year.

The £50 deposit scheme has now ended for the 2013 event, but 2012 priced weekend tickets, early entry permits, campervan permits and still on sale and are available from the Leeds Festival website at www.leedsfestival.com and See Tickets.
