Chart stars Lawson heading for Leeds 02 Academy
Lawson, gig in Leeds February 2013
WITH Lawson’s debut album soaring into the charts at number four and the incredible success of their recent sell-out Hometowns Tour, it’s no wonder that the band members are already preparing for the next jaunt round the country.
The Chapman Square Tour will kick-off early in 2013 and will bring the boys to Leeds at the O2 Academy on Tuesday, February 26.
This year, Lawson have had huge chart success with When She Was Mine reaching number four, Taking Over Me number three and Standing In The Dark number six. A top five debut album has followed with Chapman Square and through radio shows and live festivals, the band have already performed to more than 250,000 people across the UK and Europe in tours and summer festivals.
Frontman Andy Brown said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be announcing our next tour. It’s our biggest yet by a mile and announcing it is a great way to cap off what has been an amazing year for us.
“If you’d told us 12 months ago that we’d finish off 2012 with three top ten singles, a top five album and now a fourth headline tour on the way, we’d have called you crazy. It’s all down to everyone who’s been out and bought the records and we’re really grateful.”
Lawson built their following through performing alongside big names like Bruce Springsteen and Jessie J and they are also no strangers to a big crowd after festival performances at V Festival, T In The Park and Hard Rock Calling.
Their previous three tours in the last 18 months have sold out completely, so demand is expected to be high for the new dates. For tickets for their Leeds gig, visit www.livenation.co.uk or www.ticketweb.co.uk or ring 0844 4772000.
