Feeder, Press session 2011

MORE names have been added to the line-up for this summer’s big Leeds Festival with the announcement of acts that will appear on the Festival Republic Stage.

The View, Sleigh Bells and Feeder will headline this stage over the three days of the August Bank Holiday event at Bramham Park with support from mostly up and coming bands and singers.

In years past the Festival Republic Stage has been notable for helping launch many acts who have gone on to be big names with the likes of Kasabian, The Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Keane and Florence and the Machine all starting off here.

This year the line-up will be headed by Scottish indie band The View on the opening day (Friday, August 24) when there will also be a special acapella and acoustic set by The Futureheads plus appearances from Benjamin Francis Leftwich, King Charles, 2:54, SCUM, Alberta Cross, Iceage, DZ Deathrays, Toy, Deap Vally, The Cast of Cheers and LA.

The following day will see Brooklyn’s Sleigh Bells top a line-up that includes Leeds Festival regulars The Subways, Veronica Falls, Bastille, Niki and the Dove, Zulu Winter, Lucy Rose, Alt J, We Are Augustines, Jeff The Brotherhood, Savages, Fidlar, Palma Violets and O Brother.

Long established favourites Feeder share top billing with Young Guns on the Festival Republic Stage on Sunday, August 26 when there will also be a closing DJ set from Bassnectar. Others to play will be Lower Than Atlantic, We Are The In Crowd, Dog Is Dead, Jake Bugg, Don Broco, Oberhofer, The Knux, Citizens!, Theme Park, The Minutes and Blood or Whiskey.

Tickets to the 2012 Leeds Festival are still available from.leedsfestival.com or by ringing 0871 2310821. They can also be bought without booking fee, in person when paid for in cash at Leeds Visitor Centre.
