MASKED armed robbers who threatened and robbed a security guard in Gildersome are being hunted by police.
The men wore balaclavas as they approached the guard as he left a supermarket in Finkle Lane at 2pm on Monday.

They threatened him with an iron bar and sledgehammer and took a cash box he was carrying before escaping in a blue Ford Mondeo driven by a third man.

That car was recovered a short time later in Armley, and forensic examinations are currently taking place.

The security guard was uninjured.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact City and Holbeck CID on 0845 6060606.
