PUPILS at Woodkirk High Specialist Science School were treated to an entertaining afternoon when they met a talented young writer.
Joe Craig, the creator of the Jimmy Coates series of adventures, read from his latest book Survival, thought up new stories based around pupils’ ideas and signed copies of all his books, which were in great demand.

Librarian Carol Unett said the visit was a great success.

“There was lots of positive feedback from the pupils, some of whom had read a whole book by the next day,” she said.

“Sometimes a talented author can be less than talented as a presenter, but Joe kept over a hundred pupils engrossed and often in stitches!”

SUCCESS: Woodkirk pupils Imogen Lee , Luke Thornton, Cullen Spurr, Kalim Lajporia and Catherine Brown with writer Joe Craig.
