A MORLEY club for people with special needs is coming of age this summer and members hope former helpers and members will come and celebrate with them.
The New Horizon Club will be turning 21 and the committee is planning a party at the Gildersome Arms in August.

Treasurer Ron Cordery said the members enjoy their trips out and about and had been particularly impressed by the pub when they had gone for their Christmas meal.

He added that they would like to hear from anyone who has been involved with the club over the years who might like to come and celebrate with them.

Ron has been with the club for 18 years, since it moved to its present location at the Lewisham Park Centre, but the club was started in Churwell in 1987.

It meets every Tuesday night so its 30 members can socialise, play games and plan trips and outtings.

Those wanting to go to the celebration in August should contact Ron on (0113) 253 5331, Muriel Sanderson on (0113) 252 2744, or email her at murielharrison@lycos.co.uk
