A MORLEY pet suppliers that has been serving the town for 130 years has extended further with the opening of a live pet shop and cattery.
Kenyons, which has been based at Ackroyd Street for 10 years, now sells everything from hamsters and guinea pigs to rats and rabbits.

Run by Tracey Drury, the new pet shop stocks food for all pets, including organic poultry food and live food such
as crickets and locusts.

As well as the pet shop, Kenyons is now home to Cosy Cats Cattery.

The new boarding facilities for cats and small animals, which opened in January, has 14 double units, four of them being family units for more than two cats.

The secure units offer heated sleeping quarters and well ventilated exercise areas so are fully equipped for rest and play for even the most pampered of moggies!

Owner Emma Verity said: "We also have disco balls, so the cats have a disco every night as they love to chase to lights.

"We've put a lot of thought into the comfort and well-being of the cats.

"They sleep for 18 hours a day, but they are observant for six hours so the more they have to look at the better. We have lots of activities for them.

"Each unit is clean and bright and there is someone there all day if owners want to pay a visit. The only thing we ask is that the cats are vaccinated before they can come to stay.

"We provide everything they will need, as long as it's washable, but owners can bring anything they want from home, which helps the cats settle in better. We can supply the food, as long as they are on no special diets, and have an unlimited supply of biscuits and meat. We also provide the litter trays."

As well as looking after cats, there is also a Pet Lodge for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and they have even had chickens come to stay.

For further information about Cosy Cats Cattery or the pet shop, call Kenyons on 2532525.
