THOUSANDS of customers were at the White Rose Shopping Centre on Monday evening to see Hollyoaks star Stuart Manning switch on the centre's Christmas lights.
Stuart, who plays Russ Owen in the Channel 4 soap, was joined by Santa and Pudsey Bear, who was on hand with his helpers to collect money for the BBC Children in Need appeal.

The switch-on, which signalled the start of late-night Christmas shopping at the centre, was followed by the White Rose’s traditional fireworks display, ensuring that the festive season got off to a sparkling and spectacular start.

Santa will have his grotto in Debenhams throughout the festive season. He will be there during the weekend of November 15 and 16, before returning on Saturday, November 22 to take up residence for the rest of the Christmas period.
