THREE post offices in Morley and Tingley are on a national listfor closure.
The closure programme, announced by the Post Office yesterday, threatens 22 post offices across Leeds, which will mean Morley losing post offices at Britannia Road and Newlands as well as Bradford Road, Tingley.

This follows the closure of Howden Clough Road and Fountain Street post offices just over two years ago.

A total of 63 post offices in West Yorkshire face the axe, slashing the county's 345 branches to 282.

The proposals will now go through a six week consultation process to obtain views on Post Office Limited's proposals to ensure that the branches that are ultimately selected for closure, or closure and replaced with an Outreach Service, are appropriate.

See Wednesday's Morley Observer and Advertiser for full story.
