PARENTS and children gathered on Britannia Road this morning to stage a protest over safety concerns.
The hour-long protest was organised to highlight demands for an increase in traffic calming measures on the road.

Campaigners want a new pedestrian crossing installed as well as a reduction in the speed limit and speed cameras.

They also want Britannia Road to be made single carriageway along its whole length.

The date of the protest was picked because today would have been the 13th birthday of Hannah Hudson, the Morley High School pupil knocked down by a car and killed in June this year.

Hannah's family were at the forefront of this morning's protest, as were the family of 20-year-old Christopher Benson, who was knocked down and killed on Britannia Road in 2005.
