WAKEFIELD Tutorial School is launching an assisted places scheme for children.
The scheme, for children who will be in years three to six in September, will provide a number of means-tested bursaries for children who are currently attending a state school and who show academic potential plus the willingness to contribute to the life of school – for instance, through music or sport.

Applications must be submitted by Saturday, June 7 and assessments will be held in the week commencing Monday, June 9.

Anyone interested is invited to contact headteacher Julie Tanner for further information and an application pack on 2534033, or e-mail her directly at head teacher@wtschool.co.uk .

The school is also having an open day on Friday, June 6 from 10am to noon then from 2pm to 5pm, and on Saturday, June 7 from 10am to noon.

And on the Friday afternoon of the open day the school is hosting a teddy bears' picnic for pre-school children and their parents/carers. If anyone would like to go along to the event, which will run from 1.30pm to 3pm, contact the school to book a place, as these will be strictly limited.
