A MORLEY health and beauty salon celebrated 20 years of success at the weekend.
Owner of Peaches and Cream Linda Gardiner and her staff of six invited staff and clients old and new to their birthday celebrations on Saturday.

Linda's career started at the Yorkshire College of Beauty in Yeadon, where she trained for a year before becoming a tutor and examiner and five years ago became a training manager.

Her first salon on Chapel Hill was opened by the college's principal, Christine Tilley, in 1988. Four years later she moved the salon to Wesley Street.

Linda said: "The name of the salon came from the day I was born. When asked if I was all right, the midwife replied: 'She's peaches and cream'.

"When we moved from Chapel Hill we left there at 4pm on the Saturday and re-opened in Wesley Street by 9am on the Monday. It was a very busy weekend!"
Linda now works for the college full time, interviewing salons for college students' work placements, but still spends two days a week at the salon, which has two relaxation rooms, nail, pedicure and waxing rooms and offers a range of pampering services including Thai massage and reflexology.

On Saturday visitors to their birthday celebrations were treated to nibbles and drinks and were given the chance to win one of 20 prizes, one for each year of the business.

All money raised from the day is to be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.
