Morley folk have been playing Santa Claus this Christmas by helping to support children in need.

Onwards and Upwards estate agents at Milton House, on Queen Street, has played a big part in Radio Aire’s Mission Christmas with a number of vans being filled with gifts for less fortunate children.

Town centre manager Racahel Kennedy said: “We’ve been told that Onwards and Upwards has been the most popular drop-off point outside the city centre.

“We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of local people and a huge thank you to the ladies of the Morley WI who doubled our donations in just one night by donating over 100 presents at their December meeting.”

The fundraising estate agents have had a successful year raising money for the charity, including a superhero day and big bake sale to get them into the festive spirit.

Owners Janine and Paul Dunnigan said: “We have been supporting this worthwhile cause all year to try and support vulnerable children across Leeds.

“We know how generous the people of Morley always are.”

The donated gifts were colllected by Radio Aire#s Cash for Kids volunteers who went on to distribute them to children aged between 0-18 ensuring no child, whatever their circumstances, woke up on Christmas Day without a gift to open.
