Drighlington Primary School is celebrating its 10th anniversary in style this week, with a firework display on Friday night.

Live musicians and a local DJ will also provide entertainment at the event on the school grounds, which is free of charge and starts at 7pm.

Anyone connected with the school in any way who wants to go along is encouraged to join in the fun.

Sue Jackson, headteacher at the school, said: “We have been planning this event for a year, and it is our way of thanking everyone for their contribution to the success of the school since its opening.

The ten-year celebration event represents our successes, achievements, partnerships and our positive outlook for the future.”

Guests are asked to walk to the school if possible, or park in the village and walk the rest of the way to minimise the impact on local residents.
