It’s not every day you’ll see the Shadow Chancellor wearing a pink tutu and headband.
But Morley and Outwood MP Ed Balls was wearing just that this afternoon (Friday) – all in the name of charity.
Mr Balls joined staff at Yorkshire Building Society on Queen Street to take to the saddle to raise money for Sport Relief.
Even customers joined staff taking it in turns to try and accomplish the first stage of the Tour de France, 190 kilometres, on a static bike.
Yorkshire Building Society was named as an official supporter of the Yorkshire Grand Depart stages of the Tour de France, so incorporating cycling into their challenge was the natural thing to do.
The Village hotel in Tingley donated the bike for the challenge.
