A new chapter from the story of Pilgrims Progress was opened in Morley this week.
Over 500 children from primary schools throughout the town attended an interactive exhibition and enjoyed re-living John’s Bunyan’s book, a long standing classic of English literature.
Display stations depicting the character on his way to the Celestial City were built in school halls and actors dressed up in period costume told the story of the adventures of the pilgrim of the book title.
The church was also assisted by international students from Capernwray College who are working alongside the church in a placement.
Coun Dalton thanked Morley Community Church on behalf of the town, schools and other community organisations.
He said: “This exhibition is both a novel idea and an excellent way of helping children understand the pitfalls of life and acquire moral and spiritual values.”
