A fun day with live bands and artists, karaoke and a beer tent will be held in Drighlington later this month to raise money for a special little girl.

Abbie Grace Venner, has the life-limiting condition cystic fibrosis and has to undergo a daily physio routine to prevent a thick mucus building up in her lungs and internal organs.

She has spent the majority of her life in hospital, undergoing five major operations and faces a constant battle against infection.

But a special vest could make the 15-month-old Drighlington tot’s life so much better - but at a cost of £8,000.

Abbie’s parents, Laura and David launched a fundraising appeal and it is hoped this latest event will bring the family closer to their target.

Laura said: “The vest will relieve some of the stress on the family while, most importantly, keeping Abbie well and out of hospital.”

The fun day will be held on Sunday May 25 at Drighlington Tempest Constitutional Club on Bradford Road.

There will be live bands and singers playing throughout the day, a bouncy castle, hot food, karaoke, face painting, tombola stand, bric-a-brac, grand raffle draw and much more.

There will also be a beer tent , sponsored by JW Lees Brewery.

Anyone who would like to donate to the appeal can do so by visiting or text VEST71 followed by the amount to 70070.

Anyone who has any fundraising ideas to support the family can call Laura on 07596819004.
