Members of Morley Amateur Operatic Society will be hoping luck will be a lady to them as they enter the final week of rehearsals ahead of the opening night of Guys and Dolls next Wednesday.
Over the coming weekend society members and helpers will be transforming the town hall stage into various New York locations in preparation and MAOS are delighted to welcome several new faces to the cast.
Mollie Targett, 20, a former Woodkirk High School pupil, is playing the part of Sarah Brown and has already appeared in many shows including Hairspray, A Chorus Line and Chess.
Daniel Flynn, 23, from Outwood, will be taking on the part of Sky Masterson.
Starting singing and dancing at the age of six, he has appeared in West Side Story, Whistle Down the Wind and Summer Holiday.
Society spokesman Steven Holt, who is playing Nicely-Nicely Johnson, said: “It is a sign of the popularity and appeal of Guys and Dolls that out of a cast of over 40, 10 are making their first appearance with the society. We are very pleased to welcome all the new members, everyone has had tremendous fun.”
The show runs from September 18-21 with evening performances at 7.15pm and a matinee at 2.15pm on the Saturday. Tickets are £10 each with children and senior citizens at £8. All tickets are £8 on opening night.
