Another successful Wicket Fest.

HUNDREDS of people attended the second Wicket Fest at Morley Cricket Club on Sunday, firmly establishing it as an event that is here to stay.
The Scatcherd Lane ground was transformed for the day into a free festival with 11 bands performing from a stage on the back of a truck, art and craft stalls and fairground rides.
Organiser Lee Jagger said: “It was an absolutely fantactic day.
“There was quite a buzz, a really good vibe with people having a laugh and dancing.
“All the bands went down really well and we had people raving about how good they were.”

Although a heavy downpour in the early afternoon threatened to turn the event into a damp squib, it recovered and by the time the headliners King Nothing came on there were around 250 people there to cheer them on and enjoy the fireworks.
Lee added: “I’d like to say a big thank you to everybody who came and who stuck it out when it rained and especially to our volunteers whose help was invaluable.”
He and his fellow organisers are now busy counting up the donations for their two charities, Sense and Rett UK, and making plans for next year’s event.
