Arrests for Morley metal thefts and assault

Two men have been arrested and charged for stealing metal items from Morley gardens.
Officers from Morley’s Neighbourhood Response and Policing Team were alerted to a vehicle ‘harvesting’ metal on Monday and found the vehicle along with two men nearby.
The vehicle was searched and the men were arrested for offences connected to theft.
As a result of enquiries by Morley NPT, further offences were established linking the men to items stolen earlier from gardens and revealed that one of the arrested men had assaulted a resident who challenged their activities.
Both males were interviewed and charged with theft offences and assault.
Morley NPT wish to thank the residents of Morley for quickly informing them of suspicious vehicles ‘harvesting’ items that don’t belong to them.
