A Morley bail hostel that has been the subject of numerous complaints of anti-social behaviour, was discussed at a meeting this week.
The meeting, attended by councillors, police and the hostel owners, met to explore an action plan to reduce the level of complaints from local residents about the High Street accomodation.
Coun Judith Elliott said “The hostel owners were given a long list of legitimate complaints from local residents about the behaviour of tenants using the bail hostel. “These included noise and other associated poor behaviour.
“They were given a very clear warning about the need for their service users to stop their poor behaviour or face the ultimate sanction of closure using Police powers.
“We will be watching the bail hostel very closely and expect to see substantial improvement. The hostel is in the wrong location and we will not stand by and let it continue to have a significant negative impact on local residents.”
