Bruntcliffe School celebrating pupils’ A level success

Students and staff at Bruntcliffe School were celebrating this morning, as sixth form students picked up their highly anticipated A Level results.

Among the many ecstatic pupils this morning, Jenny Barber was celebrating after achieving A grades in biology, chemistry and maths and will now take up a place at Leeds University to read medical biochemistry.

Science whizz James Mellor will study chemistry at Birmingham University after obtaining an A in physics and Bs in biology and chemistry, while Emily Smith will join Leeds Beckett University to study psychology after she achieved an A in English Language, a B in sociology and a C in psychology.

Headteacher Heather Scott paid tribute to the students and staff at the school, saying: “It’s fantastic to see our hard work paying off.

“Our students have worked incredibly hard throughout their time at Bruntcliffe School to make sure that they could achieve their potential. To see so many of them setting off now to university and college is a tangible reward for us a their teachers and supporters.”
