A Morley fundraiser is hoping people will support her as she aims to raise £1,500 to build a pre-school in Laos.

Sarah Keig, of New Bank Street, has already held a charity karaoke night at The Dashers pub, which raised £223 and is now looking forward a charity quiz night on August 19 and a 120km sponsored walk on September 11 along the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain.

Sarah said: “I have been fortunate enough to have visited Laos on a number of occasions and I have seen first hand the poverty that is caused through a lack of education. That is why I want to do something positive for this region. Many children, particularly girls from ethnic minority backgrounds, continue to be extremely disadvantaged when it comes to education, The money that I raise will help support Plan International’s Early Education project, which promotes a more positive attitude towards girls.
