Cannabis operation discovered in Gildersome

A large cannabis cultivation operation was found at a house in Gildersome.
Officers from Morley Neighbourhood Policing Team’s Response and Traffic Division carried out stop checks on vehicles which were seen acting suspiciously around the Spring Avenue area of the village.
Enquiries were made at an address where the vehicles were spotted and after searching the house a large cannabis farm was discovered.
Plants were being grown in the conservatory as well as in other rooms of the detached house.
The occupant was arrested for the offence as well as the driver of one of the cars.
Further enquiries were made and it was found that the electricity meter had been bypassed. The occupant was further arrested for abstracting electricity.
Enquiries are ongoing.
