Children at the Cherubs playgroup collected their generous annual harvest festival haul for the church.
The playgroup met at St Andrew’s Church, Bruntcliffe to donate fresh and canned food from soup to sardines as part of its celebration of one of the oldest known festivals.
The playgroup has gone from strength to strength since it began in 2000, meeting on Thursdays from 9.30am with toys for children, an area for mums with babies and tea and coffee served all morning.
Half of their collection will be donated to the Caring for Life charity which provides homes and support to vulnerable men and women, and St George’s Crypt, the homeless charity in Leeds city centre.
Anyone who would like to join the Cherubs group, just call in one of their Thursday meetings.
