Churwell problem parking delays ambulance
PARAMEDICS racing to an emergency were forced to knock on doors to get through a packed Churwell street.
A resident of Goffee Way called 999 for an ambulance but as it arrived it was unable to get to the house due to cars that, police said, were parked inconsiderately.
The paramedics had to knock on neighbours’ doors asking them to urgently move their vehicles, which delayed the patient getting to hospital for emergency treatment.
Morley Neighbourhood Policing team is now urging residents of Churwell to park considerately, allowing sufficient room for emergency vehicles to pass through as it said bad parking could have “terrible consequences”.
