People with a love of song are being invited to join Churwell’s new community choir.

The Churwell Village Choir is being set up by and for people who just enjoy singing – no experience or skill is necessary, just a love of music.
An initial meeting for people to go along and chat about the idea is being held at All Saints Community Centre, Elland Road (next to the chemist) at 7.30pm on Monday February 17.
Under discussion will be what days rehearsals should be held on.
One of the founding members of the choir, Coun Joyce Sanders, said they wanted people of all ages to get involved.
“If you are interested in helping the village of Churwell form a choir then please come along,” she said.
“People don’t have to have any experience so they don’t need to worry about that. We’ll be singing popular music and songs from the shows.
“We just want people to come along and enjoy song.
“We have already got lots of music – we just need lots of members!”
Anyone interested can contact Coun Sanders on 0113 2533327. You can also email Wenda Whitehead at wenda.whitehead@ntlworld.com.
