The Morley and Outwood Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Andrea Jenkyns has welcomed Government funding for pothole repairs and urged Leeds City Council to bid for support.

Local authorities who are awarded some of the £168m Pothole Fund will have to sign a pothole pledge setting out clearly how many potholes they will fix by March 2015.

Ms Jenkyns said: “This is a great opportunity to improve the roads in Morley and deal with the blight of potholes. Now Leeds City Council needs to step up and bid for this money.

“This will make life that bit easier for the hardworking people in the area.”

She has also set up the Morley and Outwood Pothole Patrol (MOPP), to highlight the problem roads in Morley and Outwood.
