Plans to close roads in Churwell as part of the Daisy Hill housing development have been withdrawn.
The road closure was due to start on Monday for five days and include no movement of vehicles on the estate between 9.30am-3.30pm, which caused anger amongst residents.
Coun Robert Finnigan said: “I met with Highways officers and the developer this morning to see what could be done to avoid the closure and a plan was agreed that it will be kept open, but with some managed sections.”
Coun Finnigan said that although it may cause some inconvenience to residents they will have full vehicular access at all times.
The developer has agreed to circulate a letter to confirm the road closure plan has been withdrawn.
