Drighlington fun day

THE organisers of Drighlington Fun Day are hoping for fine weather on Saturday, July 14, but they proved in 2011 that wind and rain would not put them off.

The annual highlight of the village calendar will be held from noon-5pm on Adwalton Moor.

The arena will once again take centre stage with events including a performance by the Leeds Pipe Band, a birds of prey demonstration, children’s fancy dress competition and the hugely popular dog show where breeding and grooming take second place to character, ability to do tricks or simply having the waggiest tail.

There will be an inflatable laser quest, fun fair and a huge range of stalls including everything from face painting and children’s games to hand crafted goods.

There will also be plenty of catering options to refresh visitors once the children have worn them out.
