Changes to the layout of an East Ardsley road are to be monitored by Leeds City Council.
Concerns were voiced by residents and motorists about the new layout of a junction off Bradford Road, leading to Thorpe Road, which was recently made a one-way street, preventing vehicle entering via Bradford Road.
A Leeds City Council spokeswoman said: “Residents raised concerns about excessive queuing times when trying to turn right onto Royston Hill from Thorpe Road during peak times.
“People waiting to turn right onto such a busy stretch of road are holding up other traffic trying to turn left and people have been known to drive on the pavement to avoid queuing which isn’t safe or acceptable.
“To reduce the queuing times, a one-way traffic flow has been put in place and separate turning lanes provided.
“Clear signage and road markings have been put in place but we’ll be monitoring the changes and will adjust the scheme as necessary to ensure it’s safe and effective.”
