Emmerdale star to flick the switch

A STAR of Emmerdale will paying a special visit to the White Rose Shopping Centre on Monday to officially switch on the Christmas lights.

Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Livesy, will be flicking the switch for the centre’s display of seasonal lights, which will be followed by a dazzling firework display.

Also on the evening, fundraisers from Martin House Hospice will be accompanying their mascot Marty Bear on a walkabout around the centre from 6pm until he joins up with Santa to help Danny perform the switch-on at 7pm to get seasonal shopping off the a sparkling start.

Danny will then meet fans and sign autographs until the beginning of the fireworks display at 8pm, which shoppers will be able to watch from car parks four and five and listen to the comic commentary from Real Radio Breakfast host Guy 
Harris.

Director of the White Rose Centre, Peter Cook said: “White Rose shoppers are very generous people when it comes to charitable fundraising so we are hoping to give Martin House, which is our charity of the year, a big financial boost as well as mark the official start of Christmas shopping at the centre.”

Morley can look forward to the town’s Christmas lights switch-on Thursday, November 25. Who will be doing the honours of flicking the switch is yet to be confirmed, but keep checkingw the Observer and Advertiser for the announcement along with full list of entertainment on the night.
