A baby born four weeks ago means one Morley family has five generations living around the corner from each other.

The youngest member, Maisie Sharp, met her great, great grandmother, Elise Bunting, 94, for the second time to have this picture taken at Gables Nursing Home in Gildersome where Elise lives.

New great grandma Sylvia Heeley is delighted to greet her grandson’s baby Masie Sharp to the family, she said: “I am over the moon, it is beautiful to have a new baby in the family and I am sure we are all going to spoil her so much.”

Ryan Sharp, 22 and his partner Lauren Speight, 20, welcomed their first baby, Maisie on January 28.

Mrs Heeley said: “It is difficult now with mum’s dementia but she was always hands on with the grandchildren and even the great grandchildren. I think my daughter Vivien is pleased to have a girl in the family because Ryan has three brothers, so she is very happy.”

According to the Guinness book of world records the most generations alive in a single family has been seven and was recorded in the United States of America.
