Time is running out for young people to submit their entries for the Leeds in Bloom flowerbed competitions.

In last week’s Observer and Advertiser we reported that the deadline had passed.

But children aged four to 16 actually have until March 31 to enter their designs for a flowerbed or edible flowerbed to be displayed in the city centre.

The six winners will not only see their designs created, but will also be invited to the annual In Bloom awards to receive prizes and certificates.

Winners will also have the chance to claim £300 of nursery vouchers for their school.

For more information on how to enter, email richard.gill@leeds.gov.uk or phone 0113 237 5301.

Details can also be requested by writing to Floral Initiatives Office, Parks and Countryside, Farnley Hall, Farnley Park, Hall Lane, Leeds , LS12 5HA.

Leeds has a thriving In Bloom network with more than 50 groups in communities across the city who contribute to more than 1,300 floral displays.
