A group of children are following in their mums’ footsteps by tackling the Leeds 10k this weekend for a cause close to all their hearts.
Aimee Graham, eight, Teddy Graham, six, Vinnie Graham, three, Noah Heald, seven, Harry Heald, four, Sam Hunter, four, Daniel Hunter, eight, Ben Hunter, nine and Thomas Hunter, 10, will be taking part in the Leeds Arena mini run this Sunday to raise money for the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity, Sands, in memory of a baby who died just one hour and 17 minutes after birth.
Aimee said: “We are running in memory of Daisy Bluebell Heald, who sadly died shortly after she was born on April 19 2011. It was sad time for everybody as we are all friends.
“We were all excited waiting for Daisy to be born and it was a very big shock when she died. We later found out she had a poorly heart. We are training hard and we promise to run our best for Daisy.”
The children’s mums all ran the Leeds 10K together last year to raise money and decided that they wanted to raise money to help the charity too.
