A team’s fundraising efforts for British Heart Foundation got a boost when Morley customers and businesses dug deep for a raffle.
Leeds Building Society branch manager Victoria Reid is one of 10 staff tackling the Three Peaks Challenge next month.
She said: “The challenge involves climbing the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales in a day. These include Ben Nevis in the highlands, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Mount Snowdon in North Wales. This is approximately 26 miles of rugged mountain terrain with 430 miles of driving in between – all in 24 hours!
“Every day the British Heart Foundation saves lives through pioneering research, providing vital information to help people reduce their own heart health risks, campaigning for change and supporting and caring for heart patients. We are hoping to raise £11,000 for this amazing charity – £1 for every foot in altitude our team will climb.
“The Morley branch has got the fundraising off to a great start by raising £300 thanks to the generosity of local businesses, who have kindly donated a variety of gifts as raffle prizes. I would also like to thank everyone who bought a ticket.”
