Leeds United stars have provided a special Christmas gift to sick children in the city’s hospitals.

Players Rudy Austin, Ross McCormack, Sam Byram, Noel Hunt and Jason Pearce all paid a visit to children’s wards at Leeds General Infirmary.

Leeds manager Brian McDermott also went along and said: “It’s really important to do this. It touches you. We’re obviously blessed and very fortunate to be able to come somewhere like this. It does put things in perspective.

“It’s important to remember as well that a lot of the people in this hospital are Leeds fans. Without sounding flippant, I don’t think football’s a tough world. I come here and see doctors and nurses trying to save lives. That’s a tough world.”
